Mereside Primary Academy

Our website contains plenty of information about the school, our ethos and aims and the exciting curriculum and provision that is offered here. We pride ourselves in knowing our children incredibly well and use this knowledge to motivate, encourage and care for them throughout their time at our school. Children here are at the heart of all we do and we continually strive to help each child find their strengths and talents so that they will flourish and be challenged.

Our highly skilled and motivated staff team are committed to ensuring that school is a happy, exciting learning environment where all our children are supported to do their best. We have a strong pastoral team and the care, guidance and support our children receive is second to none. Our motto is “Learning Together, Achieving Together” which demonstrates our commitment with pupils, parents, staff, governors and the local community to nurture a culture of lifelong learning for all. Our children have access to creative, sporting, musical and cultural opportunities with a wide variety of extra-curricular activities.

Our staff and children are encouraged to have the highest expectations of themselves and others. The golden thread that runs through our school are our six values:

  • Pride
  • Ambition,
  • Respect,
  • Resilience,
  • Integrity,
  • Excellence

Through these we aim to develop independence and self-confidence so we are all enthused to become the very best that we can be. During the last year, the teachers have worked tirelessly to develop even more creative approaches to teaching and completely re-designed our curriculum with new topics, visitors into school and a wide range of trips to expand learning and life experiences. We are also now a Forest School and look forward to seeing this develop this year.

Similarly, here at Mereside, we endeavour to ensure all our children obtain and achieve the highest of standards, whilst providing a secure and safe environment with fun and challenging learning opportunities. Key Stage 2 results have improved dramatically over the last three years, whilst our progress measures through school have been outstanding, putting us in the top 3% nationally.
