We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide support to teaching staff in the academic development and pastoral care of individual children or groups of children, including SEND pupils, from Nursery to Year 8. The role holder will be expected to teach whole classes in accordance with teacher-set plans as required.

We are looking for someone with a positive and proactive approach, with a love and enthusiasm towards the education of children. The successful applicant will be required to have a suitable Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, and experience of working as an HLTA with Primary-aged children.

The role is term-time only, working 27.25 hours per week:

●     Monday, 08:30 to 12:30

●     Tuesday, 08:30 to 17:00 (with a 30-minute unpaid break)

●     Wednesday, 08:30 to 16:30 (with a 30-minute unpaid break)

●     Thursday, 08:15 to 12:30

●     Friday, 08:30 to 12:00 

The annual salary is £13,516 and will be paid in twelve equal monthly instalments. This part-time opportunity is offered as a fixed-term contract for up to one year, to cover a period of maternity leave.

About St Peter's Preparatory School

St Peter’s School is an independent preparatory day and weekly boarding school for around 290 girls and boys between the ages of 3 and 13.
