We are seeking a committed professional to work within our inclusion team. You will have high expectations of learning and behaviour, the strong desire to encourage young people to reach their full potential and a belief in the capacity of every child to achieve.
You will have background in working with vulnerable and complex young people, with the ability to deliver the core subjects of English, maths and science and embrace creative ways to deliver all aspects of the curriculum. Your passion for making a difference to the lives of young people is of great importance to this role, as are the creative and adaptable ways you work with students and colleagues. Experience of delivering the AIM Awards is desirable.
As well as supporting students within their mainstream lessons, our inclusion team work within our alternative curriculum inclusion learning environments – Brook House and The Den. Brook sits within our school building and is run as an inclusion centre separate to the main part of academy curriculum. It is designed for academically able students who have barriers to learning in a mainstream environment due to experiencing additional SEMH factors. This may present in challenging behaviour and school refusal / anxiety related non-attendance (ARNA). Brook House provides an academic curriculum to support level 2 GCSE qualifications and secure better outcomes and appropriate pathways post-16, for these young people. The provision is used to allow vulnerable pupils to focus on their learning in a nurturing and supportive environment with high expectations.
The Den is a provision for those students who require an enhanced transition and nurturing to access mainstream lessons, or to study alternative qualifications at KS4. Both provisions are designed to deliver curriculum in a small group environment. Both Brook House and the Den’s broad and balanced curriculum runs from KS3 – KS4 and is delivered by a blend of teachers and HLTAs.

At East Leake Academy we believe passionately that every young person should have access to a broad and balanced curriculum, so they can foster a true love for learning allowing them to reach their full potential.
We also believe that students should develop into strong role models who can contribute positively as outstanding citizens within the wider community. We also strive towards creating a culture of respect and consideration for others at ELA, so that students develop a strong moral compass. Everything that we do at the academy is underpinned by our core values of ‘We Empower, We Respect, We Care’, which are firmly central to our academy’s ethos.
We deliver on our beliefs through providing a robust curriculum and high-quality teaching and learning focused around developing knowledge and skills, as well as creating opportunities for students to explore learning deeply through developing debate, problem solving, critical evaluation and communication skills. Alongside this our excellent pastoral programme is designed to allow further development of leadership, organisation, resilience, initiative and communication skills in readiness for future lives beyond their time at the academy.
The academy as a result has a strong track record of academic success at both GCSE and A Level, and consistently outperforms national averages in a wide range of performance measures. Life at ELA however is about much more than strong academic performance. Year after year, our students never cease to amaze us with their passion to go above and beyond in a wide variety of disciplines such as English, sport, drama, music, enterprise, science, technology and maths, to name but a few.
Our personalised approach and rich curricular and extra-curricular offer make ELA a very special and positive place to learn and to work. We really hope you choose to come on this journey with us and look forward to welcoming you to ELA.
