Job overview

William Morris Sixth Form, situated in Hammersmith, was established as the country’s first 16-19 comprehensive school. We offer 850 students from West London and beyond an exciting range of academic and vocational courses from foundation learning through to advanced level. We are an over-subscribed, vibrant, inner-city learning community which has the individual student at the heart of everything it does.

We are looking for a flexible, practical person with relevant experience and qualifications to join our Learning Support team. You will be the designated key worker for a caseload of students with moderate learning difficulties and will advise and support teaching staff in order to meet the students learning needs and targets.

Providing in-class support and developing strategies to encourage independence, you will help students learn effectively, as well as providing support in non-educational activities.

To be successful, you will hold an HLTA qualification (or be working towards one), coupled with a grade C or higher in English and Mathematics at GCSE level (or equivalent), together with an awareness and understanding of SEN legislation and the 2015 Code of Practice.

This role is offered on a full-time term time only basis, although substantial part-time will be considered.

Closing date: Noon on Wednesday 19th August 2020.

Interview dates: w/c 24th & 31st August 2020.

We actively promote the safeguarding and welfare of all our students. Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
