Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

To provide high-quality teaching, learning and pastoral support for primary-aged pupils within our SEMH and Alternative Provision setting, enabling pupils to access learning, develop positive relationships, regulate successfully and make progress from their individual starting points.

Working as part of the primary team, the HLTA will take on an enhanced level of responsibility for supporting learning, delivering targeted provision, and contributing to personalised approaches for pupils with a range of SEMH, SEND, and additional needs. The postholder will utilise evidence-based positive behaviour strategies and positive handling techniques (such as Team Teach), and work flexibly across the provision in response to pupil need and the school's operational requirements.
