About the role 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for complementing the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. They will also line manage other Learning Support Assistants, including allocation and monitoring of work.  


We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person who:  

  • has a passion for helping pupils thrive and meet their full potential.  
  • has a friendly manner and can communicate effectively with staff and pupils.  
  • can work effectively as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative.  
  • has experience of working in a similar specialist area. 


This is a permanent, 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 2 days contract, with a start date of 1st September 2025. 


Salary:

Grade 6, Scale Range 12-17 (unqualified)  

£27,711.00 - £30,060 FTE per annum reduced to £20,866.00 - £22,635.00 due to part time hours and term time working 

 

Grade 7 Scale Range 18 – 23 (qualified) 

£30,559.00 - £33,366.00 per annum reduced to £23,010.00 - £25,124.00 due to part time hours and term time working

The Rookeries J, I & N School is a one and a half entry, located opposite the picturesque Carleton Green. It backs on to open fields and the Rookeries' trees - after which the school is named.
