Wells Cathedral Prep School seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to complement the professional work of qualified teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. The suitable candidate will have a significant role to play in the planning, delivery and monitoring of learning activities.

Previous experience of working with young children in a School based environment and working with children or young people with physical or learning difficulties is essential with the ability to support teaching and learning in KS2.

A willingness to contribute to the wider co-curricular and community activity of this

lively boarding and day school situated in the heart of the West Country is desirable.

About Wells Cathedral School

Wells Cathedral School is a co-educational, Church of England, independent school offering day places to children aged 2-18 and boarding places to children aged 8-18. Based in Wells, Somerset, it currently has around 730 pupils. It is set up as a charitable trust and offers bursaries and scholarships., Wells Cathedral School is one of the oldest in Europe, with early records going back to 909 AD. In 1969 it became one of the first independent schools to accept girls. It provides an all-round education for its pupils and also, notably, incorporates a music specialist programme within the main school, making it one of five specialist music schools in the UK and the only one to offer such specialism within the context of an all-round education.
