We are seeking to recruit a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting young people in an alternative provision setting. The role is instrumental in complementing the professional work of our teachers and in helping students close the gap in their learning.

This post will suit someone who can demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and the ability to support students across all secondary age groups. You will have a flexible approach and will be able to meet the changing needs of our young people.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in or a real passion for working with students with SEMH.
  • A demonstrable commitment to raising opportunities and progression of our learners and support them in all aspects of their learning in their lessons.
  • The ability to plan, organise and lead high quality learning activities for individuals and small groups.
  • A calm and encouraging nature.

You will be based at our main site supporting teaching staff and secondary students, this is a challenging but very rewarding role supporting some of the most vulnerable pupils in Reading. The ability to make the role your own and build strong relationships is essential.

We are a multi-site organisation which includes our College Road Site – Primary and Cranbury Road Site – Secondary and Post 16. We have an Outreach Behaviour Support Team, offer medical tuition and have a Hospital Teaching Service based at Royal Berkshire Hospital.
