Rossendale School are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our education team from September 2025!

We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed people, who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages. The successful candidate will be assisting the children with their work and supporting with pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs. This role will be diverse and will be expected to cover lessons across the school.

Rossendale is a day school catering for the needs of pupils who are autistic and academically able. All pupils have a draft or final Education, Health and Care Plan.

The School provides education for young people aged from 7 – 18 years of age. Key stages 3 and 4 are based on the main school site, whilst Key stage 2 and 5 are based at our Campus which is based in the local community. 
At Key stage 4 and 5 we offer a wide range of GCSE subjects, BTEC Awards, Functional Skills, ASDAN and Entry Level qualifications and A level courses at the sixth form provision. Given the disrupted nature of our pupils’ education, prior to their admission to Rossendale, we have had some outstanding examination results. The school admits both boys and girls.

Due to the location and requirements of the role, all applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.
