At Ashmole Academy, Languages are an integral part of our curriculum and are highly valued by our school community. We aim to equip students with the skills and cultural capital that they need to succeed in life, encouraging pupils to appreciate and celebrate difference as well as providing a framework for further language learning. Under the direction and supervision of teaching staff, the successful candidate will also provide learning support and assistance to pupils in the classroom and may also work with small groups of pupils and on a one-to-one basis.
The role of HLTA is an excellent opportunity to inspire and motivate young people throughout their secondary education. The Modern Languages faculty delivers French and Spanish across all key stages and is supported by a rich, wider languages offer, including community languages. Beyond the classroom, we offer a vibrant enrichment programme. This includes annual residential trips to France and Spain for Key Stage 3 students, as well as regular ski trips to the French Alps, helping to bring language learning to life.
The successful candidate may have a French or Spanish related degree; will have a passion to inspire and maintain high quality teaching and learning and have a flexible approach to their job role. This may be suitable for candidates who are considering a career in teaching and the School Direct Programme.
