Temporary uplift to PO1 on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2025 in the first instance.

We are seeking an EAL Integration Specialist to join our experienced Ethnic Minority Achievement team. The successful candidate will be an experienced EAL practitioner, who is passionate about working with young people who speak English as an additional language and will have excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (essential) and one/more of these languages (desirable): Pashto/Portuguese/Albanian/Spanish/Arabic.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with sound interpersonal skills, who will endeavour to inspire and accelerate the language and academic progress of EAL pupils at early stages of English language acquisition.

We would like to appoint someone who has:

  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills 
  • A track record of delivering high quality EAL intervention classes
  • Experience in delivering curricular and extra-curricular EAL activities e.g., reading interventions; English, Maths, ESOL lessons to beginner EAL pupils
  • Experience in adapting and delivering schemes of learning to suit the needs of EAL pupils at early stages of English
  • Knowledge of ESOL curriculum 
  • CELTA/TEFL qualification – preferable 
  • Experience in providing high standard prompt translation/interpreting 
  • Experience in providing high quality home-school liaison
