Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time plus 5 days)

Cedar Children’s Academy are seeking a HLTA to join their established support team. The successful candidate will be expected to work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils, promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. They will also provide support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.

The HLTA will be expected to cover and lead class teaching across the academy when appropriate, directing the work, where relevant, of other adults in supporting learning. They will undertake any other relevant duties given by the class teacher and will contribute to effective assessment and planning by supporting the monitoring, recording and reporting of pupil performance and progress as appropriate to the level of the role.  A HLTA qualification would be desirable together with the ability to support teachers in increasing achievement of all pupils including, where appropriate, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
