TreeHouse school is an Ofsted 'Outstanding' non-maintained special school, providing support and education to 100 autistic pupils aged 3-19. Our mission is to stand with autistic children and young people, champion their rights and create opportunities for them.

We are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HTLA) to join our team. This is a fantastic progressive opportunity where you will support the Class Teacher and Transdisciplinary Team in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the class to meet the day to day needs of the pupils, whilst supporting their engagement with learning.

What the role involves?

  • Leading the teaching and learning of curriculum area/areas, as directed by the Class Teacher, ensuring a high level of quality of education.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate teaching and learning activities with support from the teacher and relevant members of the team.
  • Plan and prepare 1:1 and boxwork activities/tasks as directed by the teacher and be responsible for visual timetables.
  • Organising and undertaking cover for the class teacher, such as weekly PPA time and other cover, and for other colleagues as directed.
  • Reflect proactively on the quality of learning and teaching in your lessons, taking a lead on your own professional development and engagement with evidence-based strategies in your subject/curriculum area

This is a full time, permanent role. The hours are 8.30am - 4.35pm

The Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust that shares Ambitious about Autism’s vision and mission. Through the Trust, we are developing more schools to reach the autistic children and young people who need our specialist support.
