We are looking to appoint a committed professional to the role of HLTA/SEN Exams Assistant at William Perkin CE High School. William Perkin Church of England High School was opened in 2013 and is part of the Twyford Church of England Academies Trust. Its GCSE results place it within the top 5% of schools nationally. The school is founded on the successful systems and approaches of Twyford Trust, with the principle difference that it is a distinctively Christian school with open admission criteria. The school is rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted (June 2015) and SIAMS (October 2016) and is oversubscribed on first choice applicants.

HLTAs are required to support students in Years 7 – 11 with Education Health and Care Plans and to take the lead responsibility for some students with learning and behavioural difficulties. The HLTA/SEN Exams Assistant role also requires taking on responsibility for supporting the Exams team and SEN Administrator with co-ordinating and running exams in the ARP/SEN department.

Roles are up to 35 hours per week however part-time applications can be considered, particularly for three or four days per week. Exact hours per week will be discussed and agreed at interview and the salary will therefore be a pro rata figure according to the hours worked.

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Recent experience of working with secondary age children.
  • A sensible attitude, with the ability to be flexible, reflective and find solutions.
  • Energy and enthusiasm.
  • A commitment to the ethos of the school.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A good working knowledge of Excel and ability to manipulate spreadsheets

William Perkin Church of England High School opened as a Free School in September 2013 with its first intake of Year 7 students, and now has seven year groups (7 - 13) totalling almost 1,400 students. The school is founded on the successful systems and approaches of Twyford CE High School, with the principle difference that it is a distinctively Christian school with open admission criteria. The school is rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted (June 2015) and SIAMS (October 2016), and is oversubscribed on first choice applicants. 

Twyford CE Academies Trust

The Twyford Trust comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. The Twyford Trust aims to deliver outstanding education in a comprehensive school setting, and embraces the Twyford School motto ‘Life in all its fullness’, encouraging students to use their individual gifts wisely and well. Supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), the Trust is the overarching organisation which provides support for all Trust schools. The Trust has a highly evolved common curriculum which has been devised by staff within the four schools.
