Salary:  £24,137.59 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

As an HLTA, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and support to students, complementing teachers’ work and promoting independence, progress, and wellbeing across the school. You’ll bring creativity, structure, and compassion to everything you do — ensuring every student feels valued, respected, and supported in their learning journey.

Your work will focus on:

Providing learning support to individuals, groups, or whole classes under teacher guidance.

Preparing and delivering lessons, interventions, and enrichment activities.

Helping students develop academically, emotionally, and socially in a safe and nurturing environment.

Assisting teachers with lesson planning, resource preparation, and classroom management.

Supporting behaviour management in line with school policy and promoting positive conduct.

Monitoring progress and providing detailed feedback on student participation, learning, and wellbeing.

You’ll also play a key role in supporting the holistic development of students — contributing to behaviour and pastoral plans, emotional regulation strategies, and wider interventions to promote inclusion and resilience.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Supporting the implementation of individual education and behaviour programmes.

Promoting students’ self-esteem, confidence, and independence.

Attending and contributing to EHCP reviews and team meetings.

Maintaining accurate student records and reports (including Sleuth entries).

Assisting with Thrive sessions, PDS activities, and interventions linked to EHCP outcomes.

Administering medication when required (training provided).

Leading small group sessions, covering lessons, and supporting transitions when necessary.

Upholding safeguarding, equality, and inclusion principles in all aspects of school life.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a caring, motivated, and resilient professional who believes in the potential of every child. You’ll bring:

Experience working with children and young people, ideally in SEN or similar settings.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

The ability to remain calm, compassionate, and solution-focused under pressure.

A commitment to safeguarding, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers and achieve success.

At Bramfield House School, we believe every young person deserves dignity, respect, and opportunity. We’re proud to provide a caring, inclusive environment free from prejudice or discrimination — where each student’s individual needs are understood and met with patience, creativity, and compassion.

Bramfield House School stands in magnificent grounds and gives students extraordinary educational opportunities through its innovative, successful teaching approach inside and outside the classroom.

The rural location, just off the main A12 in Suffolk, attracts interest for places across East Anglia to achieve happiness and success for even the most reluctant learners and vulnerable students.
