We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and competent individual with experience of working with school databases, or personal records, to conduct a review of the school’s historic pupil records and produce a report on the nature of the data held by the school. Depending on the outcome of this review, there may be a further task to implement the school’s revised policy on information and records retention.
This is a part-time, fixed-term position, initially required for half a term c. 5 weeks, working 15 hours per week, spread over 2 or 3 days.
To be successful, you should hold a good first degree in a relevant subject, together with a postgraduate qualification in archives and records management. Furthermore, you should have experience of accessing and interpreting personal records, including an understanding of the different categories and retention requirements of data, e.g. contact details, secure notes, medical records; excellent IT skills and competence in interrogating an electronic database; and good written and oral communication skills. Experience of a teaching or management post at a school or experience working with school records, is desirable but not essential.
