Manchester Islamic High for Girls is an independent all girls 11 – 16 secondary school located to the south-east of Manchester city centre, in Chorlton. We are a relatively small school of approximately 240 pupils, which has been rated outstanding at its last two inspections.

The ideal candidate must be able to teach History to both Key Stage 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will:

• Have an appropriate teaching qualification and be qualified to degree level

• Be a History specialist

• Be able to teach Key Stage 3 and 4, up to GCSE level

• Be passionate about History, and committed to be committed to delivering lessons    that will engage, enthuse and motivate our learners to succeed.

• Have excellent interpersonal and presentational skills 

• Differentiate teaching to suit learners of different abilities

• Be forward-thinking, inspirational and receptive to change

• Be able to work independently

Starting salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience and will range from £19680 - £25,585 per annum (pro rata for part time).

Additional leave for Ramadhan, Eid and the Day of Arafat. Chorlton is a vibrant area and has easy access to the tram and bus station.

About Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls

The Manchester Islamic High School for Girls is an all girls, Muslim independent secondary school in the county of Lancashire serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Chorlton, Manchester has approximately 219 students on record. 

The Manchester Islamic High School for Girls was established in 1991 by the Manchester Islamic Education Trust Ltd, who also oversee The Manchester Muslim Preparatory School and Kassim Darwish Grammar School for Boys. It was the first school in Manchester to combine the teaching of Islam along with the National Curriculum. The school was identified as outstanding by Ofsted in 2015.
