Job overview

History Teacher (Maternity Leave)

Required for September 2020

The Governing Committee are looking to appoint an inspirational teacher, committed to securing excellent outcomes for all of our students to cover a maternity leave for a year.

The role may appeal to a teacher seeking their first teaching post or, equally, to recently qualified or more experienced teachers.  St Benet Biscop is a great place to work and provides excellent job satisfaction, as it is a very supportive environment. We provide excellent on-going professional development for teachers at all levels.

St Benet Biscop is a popular and oversubscribed school which is highly regarded within the community and we offer high quality education in a Catholic Christian environment.  St Benet Biscop has become part of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust on 1 June 2020.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.

Above all, the Governors wish to appoint a teacher with:

• A clear commitment to nurturing and promoting the school’s distinctive Catholic ethos

• A passion for providing the best possible holistic education for all students

• A commitment to maximising achievement through excellence in teaching and learning

• An excellent track record as a classroom teacher.

Application packs, including job description and person specification for the post are available by accessing the Academy’s website: http://www.st-benetbiscop.org.uk/about-us/vacancies/ or by contacting Mrs Jane Marriott-Lodge, Marriott-lodgej@pax-christi.co.uk

Completed applications should be sent to HR@pax-christi.co.uk

Applications from all denominations are welcome.

Closing date for applications:  By noon Wednesday, 12 August 2020. Interview week beginning Monday, 24 August 2020.

Our Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service and additional recruitment checks.
