The creation of a position for HLTA: Vulnerable students and students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) at Glossopdale School is one of the next steps in our behaviour improvement plan as we endeavour to rapidly raise standards. This is a new, exciting role and the successful applicant will be morally aligned to our values.

The purpose of this job is to support and work with vulnerable students and those with SEMH, helping them to overcome barriers to achieving their potential so that they have greater opportunities available to them in the future. By working with teachers and small groups of students the successful candidate will provide targeted intervention to key groups of students in our THRIVE Centre to help accelerate progress and ensure they achieve their potential.

The successful applicant will have the ability to maintain appropriate records, create a calm and orderly environment in the alternative provision centre, coordinate work and a variety of courses for students, communicate well with staff and parents/carers, and they will be extremely efficient with time.

The successful candidate will be a team player, have a strong work ethic, possess the charisma to enthuse students, they will have the desire to accelerate their own development and they will have a deep rooted commitment to ensuring that all students regardless of background and barriers to learning leave Glossopdale School with a broad range of qualifications.
