We are seeking an experienced School Officer to support the work of our busy Home Economics and Hospitality department. You will display proven communication and interpersonal skills, a willingness to work across year levels from Year 7 to Year 12, in both food and textiles, and an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Flexibility, creativity and following directions, balanced with displaying initiative, are essential elements of the position. High levels of discretion and confidentiality are important attributes of the role holder.


As the only Catholic secondary college in Redland City, Carmel College provides education for more than 1130 students from Years 7 to 12. Established in 1993, the College has a strong tradition of encouraging students to ‘let their light’ shine in and for the community.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   2020 school year

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   4 days/week (24 hrs/week) - days to be negotiated

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 2 - $26.03 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
