Job overview

We require an hourly paid ESOL teacher with significant experience of successfully delivering ESOL Skills for Life qualifications to large groups of ESOL learners. The learners range from pre-entry to Level 1 and will be working towards City and Guilds qualifications. The right candidate must be willing to travel to community settings such as schools in Birmingham and Solihull for delivery of two-hour ESOL classes. Delivery may also be at employers’ premises and at main College Campuses.

You must have at least a Level 3 qualification in English and a teaching qualification, both of which are essential in order to deliver programmes in a timely manner to ensure high levels of student satisfaction, attendance, retention and ultimately success. The ability to teach Entry Level Maths would also be an advantage.

You will have excellent communication, IT and number skills, with positive ‘can do’ attitude and have the ability to work as part of a team and independently. You will be an excellent administrator – well organised and able to meet deadlines.

Please note if you are selected for the next stage in the process, you will be required to attend the College’s premises, unless exceptional circumstances apply. Unfortunately, the College is unable to contribute towards the associated travel costs.

Solihull College & University Centre is committed to ensuring a safe environment for all students and expects all staff to engage fully with this commitment.

Closing date: Monday 20th February 2023
