Royal High Bath is seeking an exceptional House Parent to lead our thriving boarding community and play a key role in shaping an outstanding pastoral experience for students from the UK and around the world.

The role

As House Parent, you will oversee the day-to-day running of a School House, lead and develop the boarding team, ensure full compliance with safeguarding and National Minimum Standards, and foster a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment in which students can flourish personally and academically. You will build strong relationships with boarders, liaise closely with parents, monitor wellbeing, coordinate academic routines, and work collaboratively with teaching and safeguarding teams to ensure every student receives the care and guidance they need.

This is a role at the heart of our school community, combining leadership, pastoral care, and operational oversight. You will manage daily systems, organise House activities, contribute to marketing and recruitment, and teach approximately ten lessons per fortnight.

Accommodation is provided within our breath-taking Grade II listed building on the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, offering a unique opportunity to live and work in an exceptional setting.

About you

You will bring excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, along with a thorough understanding of safeguarding. Empathy, resilience, and a proactive approach are essential, as is a genuine commitment to the life of a busy boarding school. You will have experience in a residential or educational setting, working with students in KS3–KS6, as well as experience supervising or managing staff.

A pastoral or childcare qualification, or a willingness to train, is required, while experience of international boarding and QTS are desirable.
