At Cheltenham Ladies’ College, we aim to provide a strong support network for every one of our pupils. Around 670 girls board with us in one of our 11 sixth form and junior Boarding Houses and your role will be at the heart of this pastoral care as you lead one of our dedicated professional teams looking after 65 girls in a junior Boarding House. As Housemistress you will make a significant contribution to the welfare and development of the girls in your care; creating an environment where each girl is encouraged to develop individual talents and interests and achieve her potential.
With previous substantial experience in pastoral care, you will be an adept communicator with a proven ability to interact and work with others in a sensitive, yet effective way. Leading a team of six, experience of managing, motivating and empowering staff is a must, as is the ability to manage change effectively. You will be an experienced and effective decision-maker with highly developed organisational, planning and influencing skills. As a key Pastoral leader, you will be passionate about and dedicated to the interests and welfare of young people. Teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
In return, we can offer you a truly inspiring working environment, right in the heart of Regency Cheltenham, described as the cultural centre of the Cotswolds, and an excellent benefits package.
College itself combines a rich heritage with an exciting future. Approximately 850 pupils from 40 countries across the world benefit from the knowledge and expertise gained over the last 160 years. Driven by innovation and challenge, we prepare our girls to achieve their full potential in a complex and changing world.
