To commence September 2020 

Applications are invited for this very important role in one of our Year 9 to Year 13 girls’ boarding houses, Haywardsend. This post represents a challenging yet highly rewarding opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the personal development of c. thirty-five Boarders and Day girls.

Candidates will almost certainly have relevant experience of either running a boarding house or serving as a residential assistant and will have a deep understanding of, and commitment to, pastoral care.  Candidates will hold the BSA qualification or be willing to undertake it during their first two years in post.   

In addition, the successful candidate will be a highly capable classroom teacher, with a genuine commitment to teaching their subject to A-level and an enthusiastic contribution to the extra-curricular life of the school will also be expected.

About Us

Wycliffe is an HMC co-educational day and boarding school. Wycliffe is located in Stonehouse, approximately 25 miles north of Bristol and 15 miles south of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Access via the motorway network is convenient (we are 3 miles from the M5) and there is a train station in Stonehouse (on the main line from London to Cheltenham) which is just a two minute walk from the school gates. In the Senior School pupils join at Year 9 (age 13) and continue until Year 13 (age 18). There are around 420 pupils in the school and 225 in the Sixth Form. Some 27 subjects are offered at A Level including Japanese, Film Studies, Computer Science and Psychology. Three BTECs are on offer as well as the EPQ. Main sports are rugby, football and cricket for boys with hockey, netball and tennis for girls. Wycliffe is the top school in the UK for squash, and excels at rowing and basketball and there is a thriving CCF.
