Merchiston is divided into six Houses, according to the age of the pupils, and each is run by a Housemaster with the assistance of an Assistant Housemaster, Resident Tutor, House Tutors and a Housemother.
We are looking to recruit an energetic and caring individual to undertake the role of Housemother in our junior years boarding house. As well as offering support to the Housemaster, the Housemother must be able to prioritise the well-being, safety and security of the boys above all other duties and be familiar with the GIRFEC context.
The role is available on a residential or non-residential basis, ideally from January 2020.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
The successful candidate will have to be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) or Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or be willing to undertake the qualifications needed to gain registration with the SSSC.
