Job overview

Houseparents required, could suit a couple or a single person.

If a couple, both or one could be teachers. With regard to subjects offered, we know we have an opening for a PE teacher* who is able to teach to A level, but other subjects and non-teachers will also be considered. Finding the right candidate(s) for the boarding element is the critical factor. The boarders at Lucton age from 8 to 19 and there is a good mix of international and UK students. Boarders make up just under one-third of the school's numbers.

Houseparents at Lucton School have every other weekend off, as well as one afternoon off each week and they do not teach a full timetable.

You would need to be comfortable to drive a minibus (we do have some 14 seaters for which you will not need a D1 licence).

Lucton School has its own Equestrian Centre and where only one of a couple is a teacher, there is the possibility of opportunities for the partner at the stables. Equally, swimming coaching or lifeguarding can sometimes be offered.

Where a couple are applying, both of you need to complete a separate application form.
