Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Provide first level advice, guidance and support to managers and employees
2. Support in employee relations issues including investigating, preparing and conducting grievance, disciplinary and absence meetings
3. Proactively assist in meeting all the recruitment needs of the College overseeing the recruitment process including all related administrative and organisational activities
4. Liaise with College managers regarding the distribution, collation and progression of posts
5. Assist with the administration of pre-employment checking, recording and monitoring in accordance
with the College’s recruitment and selection procedures and statutory obligations
6. Record and monitor sickness absence to highlight long term sickness and short term sickness patterns, liaising with Occupational Health with regard to employee referrals and follow up action in line with college policies and procedures
7. Supporting managers in initial absence review meetings and welfare meetings with a view to helping to facilitate a return to work
8. Ensure maternity/paternity/adoption leave arrangements are effectively administered and actioned in line with current legislation and in conjunction with Payroll
9. Input and update personal data onto the college HR system (iTrent) ensuring that the security and confidentiality of the data is maintained.
10. Assist with the preparation and production of management information, statements and financial reports to meet schedules and deadlines as required
11. Prioritise workload efficiently by applying effective timekeeping
12. Use a professional and customer focused approach to handle all enquiries
13. Carry out any reasonable instructions, which involve additional duties commensurate with the level and grading of this post
Other Duties and Responsibilities
a) Comply with internal and external quality standards and contribute to the College’s strategic aims.
b) Comply with college policies and procedures and health and safety regulations.
c) Support the safeguarding and promotion of students’ welfare.
d) Maintain confidentiality in relation to all College information and to comply with Data Protection Legislation.
e) Participate in the College’s Appraisal scheme and undertake any training as required.
f) Support and actively participate in the implementation of the College’s Equal Opportunity policies.
