The role

In liaison with the Headmaster and Bursar, the successful candidate will lead on the delivery of Human Resources (HR) Services and Compliance requirements.

This is a term-time role, plus 15 days. Working hours will be 25 hours per week. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

HR

  • Manage the recruitment process which will include developing person specifications and adverts, sourcing candidates, taking up references and ensuring full records are kept at all stages.
  • Ensure that all employees are effectively inducted into the organisation. This will involve running induction programmes on a timely basis, keeping school information up to date and monitoring induction check lists to ensure line management are meeting their responsibilities.
  • Co-ordinate the performance management process to ensure that interim and annual reviews are taking place and that the outputs are effectively managed.
  • Keep up to date with employment legislation, adapting policies and procedures as necessary and providing support to the line management on all employee relations issues.
  • Maintain employee records including personal data as appropriate, contracts, salary information, absence records, training records and employee benefits.
  • Maintain the School Single Central Register.


Compliance

  • Provide support and up to date guidance and information to the School Leadership Team.
  • Ensure changes in legislation are communicated, adapting policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Manage checks and documentation for all visitors and contractors.
  • Maintain the information required for inspection by the ISI.
  • Issue and collect staff annual acceptance of policies and staff disqualification returns.
  • Submit reports and returns to Surrey County Council, the ISC and DfE as required.
