Job overview

An enthusiastic, hardworking and experienced HR Assistant is required to work alongside the HR Manager in our highly academic and successful independent day school for girls. 

The post offers the opportunity to develop your HR career in a professional and supportive setting. Staff enjoy excellent conditions of service, including free lunches, generous leave entitlement and pension. NLCS also offers an attractive work environment. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a busy, generalist HR environment, ideally in a school setting. He/she will be well educated, have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, strong IT skills, including Excel, have a keen eye for detail, be well organised with the ability to prioritise and use initiative. Ideally, candidates should hold or be studying for CIPD Level 3 or 5. 

A flexible approach is important as the role involves some administrative work in support of school office colleagues, particularly during holiday periods.

About North London Collegiate School

North London Collegiate School is an independent all-through day school for girls, based in Edgware. Its motto translates from Latin as "in the hope of labour". There are 1,065 aged 4-18 on the school roll.

The school was founded by Frances Mary Buss at the family home in Camden in 1850. The current site was acquired in 1929, and the school was fully relocated in 1940. The main site is a country house built in the eighteenth century. Since 2011, North London Collegiate School has had a franchise school in South Korea.
