The Role:

Macclesfield College is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and organised HR Assistant on a fixed term basis until the end of December 2020. Working as a key member of the HR Department in a busy and diverse role you will contribute to the provision of a first class HR service through building and maintaining effective working relationships across the college community.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing a professional HR service to all College Managers and staff, responding to any queries, or concerns in a timely manner.

• Assisting the HR Team in the recruitment and selection of staff, placing adverts, liaising with applicants, handling interview arrangements and processing documentation associated with all new staff ensuring a professional experience is received.

• To update and maintain the Single Central Record in compliance with statutory and Ofsted requirements and standards.

• To use the CIPHR database to access and input data to comply with HR operational and College requirements as required.

Qualifications:

Applicants must posses 5 GCSEs at grades A* – C/ 4-9 or equivalent including Math’s & English, and a Level 2 IT qualification or a willingness to work towards the qualification in a timely manner.

Annual leave  

Academic staff are entitled to 40 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales. 

Business Support staff are entitled to 30 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales. 

College Management Team are entitled to 35 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales.  

The College is closed for 2 weeks during the student Christmas break during which time all staff are granted additional leave to be taken at this time.
