This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified CIPD L3 HR professional (or working towards this) to join an outstanding and highly successful Sixth Form College in walking distance of Leeds City Centre, located in the Universities area of Leeds. 

The HR Assistant will be responsible for  supporting the HR Manager across all HR activities to provide a full HR service to the College whilst working with fantastic and friendly staff. This role offers to develop HR experience across a range of HR activities with a focus on day to day recruitment activity, i.e. from placing adverts through to liaising with candidates, arranging interviews, meeting and greeting, drafting offer letters and contracts, whilst ensuring all pre-employment checks are carried out ahead of start date, and inducting new staff on their first day (on a one to one basis.)

In addition, acting as the first point of contact for day to day enquiries from staff, for example helping with access to electronic pay slips (i.e. resetting of password requests), to taking details of appointments for leave of absence - to update on the HR system for the daily absence report.  The role also involves maintaining the HR systems with updating starters, leavers, absences, change of details etc. and running reports such as the daily absence report.  

The successful candidate will be a highly professional self starter with a can do attitude with excellent interpersonal, written and organisational skills, who will thrive on ensuring candidates, staff and students alike receive a positive experience and feel fully supported, in line with the College's mission and ethos. This position also requires a high level of confidentiality. 

Appointment to salary scale will be based upon experience and qualifications.
