Now that we have had a massive increase in numbers wishing to join us, an increase we attribute entirely to the massive improvement in standards at LBS, we need more staff in key departments. 

Job Purpose

  • To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the administration staff to ensure effective and efficient administrative processes are in place at the Academy in support of its core business, including a welcoming reception function for the Academy. 
  • To keep abreast of developments in key areas of responsibility and to think creatively and constructively to ensure that the job is done in the most effective and time-efficient way.

 Key responsibilities

  • To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the central administrative function at the School.
  • To ensure the professional development of administrative/ front of house is ongoing.
  • Ensure production of the weekly Staff Bulletin and distribution/publishing. 
  • To be responsible for ensuring all letters/communications sent out by post, email or text are accurate, timely and of high quality.
  • To be responsible for the monitoring of the email inbox and ensuring emails are forwarded to the appropriate staff. 
  • To be responsible for the team’s production and publication/distribution of letters as appropriate, including on the website. 
  • To be responsible for the creation of all stakeholder surveys and questionnaires (parents/students/staff either internally or for Ofsted purposes).
  • To be the School’s Educational Visits Co-ordinator (EVC) and process paperwork in accordance with the policy and that staff are trained and support in how to complete residential visits and trips paperwork as appropriate. 
  • To be responsible for liaising with the SLT to ensure that staff out on trips/visits have any lessons or duties covered. 
  • To be responsible for booking Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for staff, recording it and ensuring that staff have completed any documentation in relation to being away from their teaching/duties that need to be covered.
  • To process and publish staff cover on the School Information Management System (SIMS).
  • To manage efficient HR administration.

  • To maintain confidentiality inside and outside the workplace. 
  • To understand and apply Academy policies. 
  • To be adaptable, imaginative, creative and flexible in approach to the work. 
  • To be self-motivating with the ability to identify your own training needs and a willingness to attend relevant training courses or other training. 
  • To be prepared to attend meetings outside of office hours. 
  • To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young and vulnerable people that you are responsible for or come into contact with. 
  • To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health and safety in the workplace. 
  • To ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the Academy’s Equal Opportunities Policy 
  • To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people 
  • To ensure compliance of data protection at all times. The duties above are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be required by the Executive Principal to carry out appropriate duties within the context of the job, skills and grade.
