Job overview

37 hours per week, 44 weeks per annum (five weeks to be worked during school holidays as agreed in advance with Headteacher)

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic HR professional to work in our fantastic school. The successful person will be responsible for leading on all Human Resources matters within the school, maintaining academy personnel and payroll records, managing the Single Central Register and providing guidance to the leadership team and governors on employment law and employee relations issues.

Our school vision is to ensure every student realises their potential, through every member of our community having high aspirations for success, both within and beyond the classroom. You will be joining a highly skilled staff, who are supportive, show determination and resolve.

Why should you work at The Beaconsfield School?

  • Highly supportive staff body, including a staff committee responsible for representing staff wellbeing.
  • Significant investment in a newly refurbished staff room and staff workroom.
  • Free tea and coffee for all staff, we believe in providing the best possible working environment for staff and small gestures make a big difference.
  • Reporting directly to the Headteacher, you will be encouraged to suggest and effect changes and improvements which will enable the school to maintain its reputation as a ‘good’ secondary school in Buckinghamshire (Ofsted Inspection – Feb 2019).

The Beaconsfield School has good road links to London, Reading, Maidenhead and Oxford – situated just 5 minutes from the M40 and a 10-minute walk from Beaconsfield Train Station.

If you are a self-starter with drive and experience of working in a generalist HR role, we would like to hear from you. Experience of working in a school setting and CIPD qualification would be an advantage, but more important is the ability and willingness to learn and develop new systems, to support the Senior Leadership Team in all aspects of HR and to communicate effectively with staff, governors, external contacts and partner agencies.

If you have any questions or would like to visit the school, please do not hesitate to contact us, via the Headteacher’s PA SHarwood@beaconsfield.school and ask to speak to Caroline Legg, Headteacher.

For further information about the school please visit our website www.beaconsfield.bucks.sch.uk and view the full job description and support staff application form in the Staff Vacancies section under the tab ‘About Us’

Closing date for applications: 9am, Friday 9 December 2022.

We reserve the right to close the application deadline earlier if necessary. Any related and relevant documentation will need to be scanned and emailed to the school prior to interview.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
