About the role
The City Academy Hackney (TCAH) and Newham Collegiate Sixth Form (NCS) are part of the City of London Academies Trust (COLAT) and are seeking to appoint a dedicated and exceptional HR Manager. As HR Manager, you will lead and manage the academies’ HR functions, local HR Officers, and be accountable for the quality of work delivered. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of all COLAT policies and procedures to ensure an effective and comprehensive HR function which models best practice and is compliant with legislation. The HR Manager will support the Senior Leadership Teams, providing advice, guidance and coaching on HR and line management matters to ensure that educational aims are met. They will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across other COLAT schools in the Eastern Hub as well as the central MAT team, with specialist support in finance, HR, facilities and estates, IT, and governance.

About you
We are looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable candidate who wants to work in a role where there is ample opportunity to apply their expertise and skills within an education setting. You will be educated to degree level or above, with a CIPD or equivalent qualification. You will have relevant experience in day-to-day management of an HR function, preferably in a school setting or Multi Academy Trust, along with a good understanding of HR systems, processes, and employment law. You will be an excellent planner, organiser, and communicator, with proficient IT, numeracy and literacy skills supporting your ability to think creatively and solve complicated problems.
