About Hazelwood School
Hazelwood is an independent co-educational Prep School for children aged between 4 and 13 years of age. It has a linked nursery, which caters for children between the ages of 3 months and 4 years. We currently have 600 children across the two sites. The Prep School is situated in 25 acres of grounds with phenomenal views over the North Downs. The nearest town, Oxted, is situated one mile away and has excellent mainline rail links into London. The M25 is easily accessible.

HR Manager Description
· To work in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, providing high quality support for all elements of the employee life cycle
· To ensure all records and information relating to employees are correctly maintained and accurate this includes personnel files (paper and/or electronic), spreadsheets and databases
· To ensure that the Single Central Register is accurate and up to date, completing checks and seeking information where appropriate
· To deal with staff concerns and grievances
· To assist with the disciplinary procedure in line with the policy
· To be confidential at all times
· To provide a support service that contributes to the delivery of teaching and learning across Hazelwood School and Hazelwood Nursery
· To work with senior leaders to support any re-structuring and organisational change projects
· To ensure that HR administration processes such as leavers, contract changes, maternity, paternity and probation are completed in accordance with policies and procedures in place
· To maintain employee training records and log certificates on database.
· Maintenance of training matrix
· To keep records and monitor annual leave
· To ensure accurate records of absence are maintained with regular monitoring and reporting
· To prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines.
· To work closely with the Director of Finance to keep them updated on staff changes and anything affecting pay
· To undertake any other administration duties to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning and professional HR services
· To work as part of the wider team, attending staff training days and offering support to colleagues
· Archiving of staff files, scanning and attaching to database
· Staff filing
· Hazelwood Fun Club staff, recruitment, checks and rotas
To be responsible for effective recruitment processes, including:
- Ensuring vacancies are advertised
- Receiving and logging application forms
- Supporting with short-listing processes
- Arranging and co-ordinating interviews
To be responsible for the new starter on-boarding processes including:
- Completion of pre-employment checks such as references, DBS, eligibility to work in the UK
- Ensuring offer letters and contracts are issued in a timely manner
- Co-ordination of induction processes
