Start Date: 1 December 2021

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional in the academies sector to work with a dynamic and growing company.  You will have several years’ operational experience as an HR professional, a solid understanding of STPCD and burgundy book, and experience working with trade unions.  This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to advance to the next stage of their career, partnering with department managers and academy headteachers across the Trust to deliver people-related processes, vision and strategy.  As well as full responsibility for the management of day-to-day HR operations, you will develop and implement HR processes and procedures that address and solve business problems and directly contribute to the long-term strategic objectives of the Trust.  You will be the bridge between HR operations and the Trust’s strategic objectives, making improvements in systems and processes and contributing to our growth.

We are a small company (c. 180 employees), meaning you will manage a team of only two employees and be heavily involved in the HR, pensions and payroll operations of the Trust.  However, you will also have the freedom and support to design and deliver organisational change and strategic vision.  This is a brand new post, meaning you have the opportunity to shape the role and make your mark.  As the Trust grows, this role will grow with it, making it an excellent next step in your career.  .

You will have:

• appropriate qualifications to the importance and seniority of the role (CIPD Advanced Diploma Level 7; Chartered member of CIPD)

• proven HR generalist experience of 3 to 5 years within the education sector

• experience of dealing with trade unions and their representatives

• a thorough understanding of STPCD, burgundy book and green book and a good understanding of HR in the academies sector

• exceptional organisational and communication skills

• proven leadership capabilities and solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application

• strong customer service and problem solving skills and be a proactive team player

• an ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy

• self-motivation and be able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team

Although this is advertised as a full time role, we will consider flexible and part time arrangements to suit the right candidate, including term-time only work (pro-rated salary).  The Trust is based in Norwich, with limited hot desking facilities available at Henderson Green Primary Academy (NR5).  However, our business support units (including the HR department) currently work from home.  This is a Trust based role and will require post holder to move between Trust sites as and when required.
