We are currently seeking an experienced HR officer to join the busy HR team at Grantham College on a full time permanent basis. The roles overall purpose is to provide an efficient, accurate, timely, and confidential HR advisory and support service to the College. The day to day duties will be to: Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to College staff on a range of employment matters in line with HR policies and procedures. Provide support on low level disciplinary, grievances, and performance management matters. Provide support on staff welfare and sickness absence management. Co-ordinate recruitment end-to-end consisting of advertising, short listing, arranging interviews, processing offers of employment, carrying out pre-employment checks, and tracking recruitment data. Co-ordinate and deliver on new staff inductions. Process new contacts of employment and changes to existing terms and conditions. Ensure the Human Resources database (KCS/SAGE) and all other HR systems and records are up to date and maintained accurately. Support the HR Manager on ad-hoc project work (HR Manager will take lead responsibility). In the absence of the Payroll & Pensions Administrator have a basic understanding of the Colleges payroll procedures and pay structures.

Salary: Up to c£24,000.00 per annum dependent upon experience and qualifications plus excellent benefits
Working hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

The ideal candidate will possess GCSE or equivalent (includes Maths and English A* - C). Up to date and good knowledge of employment legislation. Be full/Part CIPD qualified or equivalent. Have excellent written and oral communication skills with staff at all levels. Possess the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues across all departments and external organisations, to work accurately paying high attention to detail, organise and prioritise workload, to work on own initiative without close supervision, to work flexibly and efficiently as part of a team and be able to multi-task and to be able to follow policies and procedures. You will also need good experience at a HR generalist level, experience of handling a range of queries promptly by telephone, email and face to face, experience of using basic IT packages that includes using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience of working with HR database systems and spreadsheets and managing HR records and filing systems. Knowledge of payroll and pensions is desirable but not essential.
