About Us

MacIntyre Academies Trust opened its first academy, Endeavour Academy, in Headington, Oxford in September 2014 for children and young people with autism and associated severe Learning difficulties aged from 9 to 19 years old.  In September 2015, it was joined by Discovery Academy a new school in Nuneaton, Warwickshire for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and /or autism, aged between 9 years and 19 years. Quest Academy in Rugby is a sister school to Discovery and opened in September, 2017.

The Role

As a small but growing Trust, we are currently seeking an experienced, professional HR Officer to join the MacIntyre Academies Trust Central Team and provide HR and Recruitment Support to the Academies.  This is fixed term contract for 15 months.


Reporting to the HR Adviser, the HR Officer will provide advice and guidance on all aspects of HR and Recruitment to all levels of staff within the Trust, review and develop HR & Recruitment policies and associated guidance as required and support recruitment processes including advertising vacancies, writing job descriptions, answering queries and reviewing and developing guidance and templates.


The role also involves providing support with HR administration, including reviewing contracts of employment, supporting preparations for disciplinary and grievance hearings and drafting confidential letters as well as providing appropriate management information and report on KPI’s ensuring ongoing focus and commitment to delivering incremental value to the business.


The HR Officer will also complete specific HR & Recruitment project work as required.



About You

You need to have previous HR experience with demonstrable knowledge and understanding of employment law, experience of providing HR advice and support to employees at all levels of an organisation and writing and reviewing HR policies and procedures.  You will also hold or be working towards a CIPD qualification and ideally have experience gained in the Education or Care Sector.


You need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal, be able to work under pressure within tight deadlines, with a highly resilient, determined approach to your role. 


A strong team player with a sense of humour, you will be prepared to work variable hours occasionally, to meet the requirements of the post.
