Job Details 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Generalist to join our Payroll & HR team as an HR Partner on a part-time basis. You will be responsible for delivery of high quality, proactive operational HR support across the recruitment & employee lifecycle within our Prep and Pre-prep Schools, Dunhurst and Dunannie.

Experience & Background

As an experienced professional, qualified to CIPD Level 5 or above, you will be a friendly, emotionally intelligent and forward thinking individual with the ability to establish credibility quickly and build effective relationships at all levels within a fast paced and busy environment. Adept at managing conflicting priorities, you will have excellent ICT skills, an eye for detail and work with a high level of accuracy. 

Duties

Will include:

  • Providing strong Partnering support, advice and guidance – collaborating with HODs & line managers to ensure that managers are familiar with our people policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent application and practice
  • Advising on employee relations cases; e.g. monitoring absence, capability and performance; disciplinary and grievances; etc. whilst assessing emerging or ongoing issues 
  • Providing management support and expertise for the people stream across all contractual changes and reviews to ensure legal compliance, collaboration and consistency of approach
  • Holding regular HoD / Line Manager meetings to encourage collaboration across the school, whilst fostering consistency and mitigating potential risks and issues that may affect the team’s ability to provide appropriate resources and support
  • Working collaboratively with the Head of HR and the Recruitment, HR & Payroll teams in the day to day delivery of the HR Strategy

Hours of Work

This post is Term Time Plus, working 30 hours per week during term-time (5 days of 6 hours) and 20 hours per week during half terms and pre and post term (7 weeks).

Salary

£19,124 to £20,892 pro-rata annual salary based on the above hours and weeks of work, which is pro-rata of the full time equivalent salary of £28,740 to £31,890 per annum.

Bedales School is an independent, co-educational, selective, day and boarding school for children aged 3-18. It is situated in Petersfield in Hampshire and there are 460 pupils on its roll. There are admission fees and scholarships and bursaries are available.

Bedales is a charitable trust and was founded in 1893 by J H Badley as a humane alternative to the authoritarian regimes of the late-Victorian public schools. Its founding ethos was, and still is, “Head, Hand and Heart.”
