We are seeking to recruit an experienced HR professional to deliver a comprehensive service that delivers HR best practice and commercially focused HR solutions that support the school in the delivery of its strategic objectives.
- Main duties of the role (please see the job description on the school website for a full list of duties)Work with senior staff to ensure a cohesive approach to HR and payroll across the school;
- To take an advisory and proactive role in the strategic management of staffing at the school;
- Support senior leaders in creating, implementing and operating HR policies advising on HR best practice and policy changes;
- Development and management of appropriate IT systems including an appraisal system for support staff and an IT based integrated HR and payroll management system;
- Oversee recruitment to ensure that vacant posts are filled by high calibre staff;
- Develop a staff well-being strategy to support staff health and morale towards maintaining a positive workforce;
- Support the Deputy Headteacher responsible for professional development in the training and development of all staff.
The successful candidate will:
- Have up to date knowledge and experience of the range of HR processes including recruitment, training and induction, employment contracts, absence management and advising managers on grievance, disciplinary and capability procedures;
- Have a minimum of 3 years and ideally 5+ years HR generalist management experience;
- Hold an appropriate HR qualification i.e. CIPD minimum Level 5 Certificate in Human Resource Management;
- Have engaging interpersonal, presentation and communication skills;
- Have proven sensitivity, diplomacy, integrity and awareness of confidentiality;
- Have recent experience of the Education sector and preferably secondary schools (desirable);
- Be resilient and self-motivated with a commitment to continued improvement and personal development;
- Be able to work without supervision and be a team player, promoting equality of opportunity, participation and diversity;
- Be fully committed to supporting the school vision, mission and values;
- Be prepared to support the school beyond their job description and take a full part in a range of events and activities that form part of the life of our school.
