Overview of role

All our teachers teach in their native language. This is a full-time Humanities teacher role for a native (level) English speaker. A full-time teaching role is 20 periods/week contact time + 3 hours support to students/class cover. The remaining time is for PPA, collaboration and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach integrated Humanities to students in years 7-13
• Incorporate the mission and values of the school into every class
• Deliver instruction that supports the variability of learners (strong skills in differentiation)
• Model and create an environment which fosters critical thinking
• Use long and short range planning to ensure that the curriculum is met and aligned with school standards
• Use a variety of instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence
• Provide meaningful assignments and feedback to students
• Analyse student assessment results to help inform instruction
• Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, reports and communication with parents/guardians on school system
• Strong organisational and class management skills that promote student centered learning and positive discipline
• Participate in up to three “conseil de classe” (student progress meetings) per year
• Any ad-hoc tasks requested by management

What we are looking for

• We look for talented individuals who want to be a part of a modern, bilingual, progressive and dynamic school which promotes excellence through care.
• QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) 
• Experience of the IGCSE desirable
• Experience in the IB desirable
• Experience (or familiarity with) iPad apps for teaching and learning
• At least 2 years previous experience teaching in a similar role, preferably in an international environment
• Experience with inquiry and concept-based teaching and learning
• Interest in curriculum development
• Committed to providing students with challenging and fun learning experiences
• A passion for education and making a difference
• The ability to work under pressure during term time and meet deadlines
• Flexibility to contribute to the wider success of the school
