Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate IB MYP & DP Business and Economics Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of students in both the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of business and economics concepts, a commitment to the principles of the International Baccalaureate, and a passion for inspiring students to become critical thinkers and global citizens.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Delivery and Delivery:

  • Design and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in alignment with the IB MYP & DP Business and Economics curriculum.
  • Foster inquiry-based learning and critical thinking skills through real-world applications and case studies.


2. Assessment and Feedback:

  • Develop and administer assessments that align with IB standards, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth.
  • Utilize a variety of assessment tools to measure students' understanding of business and economic concepts.


3. Integration of Technology:

  • Incorporate modern teaching technologies to enhance the learning experience and prepare students for the digital demands of the business world.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements relevant to business and economics education.


4. Collaboration and Professional Development:

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Business and Economics departments and across disciplines.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of best practices in IB education and business-related fields.


5. Student Support:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students in their personal projects, inquiries, and career aspirations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in parent-teacher conferences.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification and/or qualifications.
  • Advanced English language (at least C1 required).
  • Experience in teaching various age groups
  • Prior experience teaching in an IB World School will be beneficial.

  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based teaching methods and active learning strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and openness to collaborative teaching practices.
  • Commitment to the principles and philosophy of the International Baccalaureate.

is an IB World School for the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. 

International School of Tallinn (IST) was founded in 2016 and opened its doors in September 2017 to be a part of the ecosystem of Ülemiste City, the largest smart city in the Baltics.

IST is conveniently situated a five minute walk from the airport and very near to the tram stop. Our school location is Keevise 2. The school is owned by Mainor Group, a company with 2 decades of expertise in higher education and development of the whole business district at Ülemiste.

Digital options are promoted throughout our education services. This enables us to increase student motivation, use interactive programs and tests, apply a personalised approach, and take into account the results of learning analytics.
