Job overview

45 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the operational hours of 8am to 6pm with occasional Saturdays to cover school events

St Nicholas’ School is a thriving, forward-looking independent school for girls aged 3 - 16 and boys 3 - 7. Set in a rural location, the school enjoys modern, well-resourced classrooms, small classes and excellent academic results. Pupils at St Nicholas’ School are highly motivated and keen to learn.

St Nicholas’ School boasts some of the best GCSE results in the country but our focus is very much on developing the whole child and nurturing all pupils, regardless of their abilities.

Working within an innovative ICT Department, your focus will be to investigate new technologies and primarily maintain, develop and improve the core ICT infrastructure, including the physical and wireless networks, servers, backups and communication systems. You will also manage software deployments, administer school systems and use your technical expertise to implement IT initiatives that enhance ICT for pupils, teachers, staff and parents. You will also regularly engage with the school’s teaching and administration teams, allowing them to benefit from your technical knowledge and providing staff and pupils with a professional, high quality ICT experience.

We are looking for a candidate with exemplary customer service skills and a desire to continuously learn and improve. You will possess three key attributes: you will be great at what you do, have attention to detail and care passionately about your work.

We welcome applicants with or without experience gained in an educational or school setting; however, exposure to a 2nd/3rd line technical support role and a proven history of implementing ICT systems, developments and improvements is essential.

Competitive salary offered. Free on-site parking and lunch during term time. Aviva pension plus other benefits.

We will be interviewing on a rolling basis and reserve the right to close the vacancy when a suitable candidate has been appointed. Therefore, early applications are recommended to avoid disappointment.

No agencies please.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and further checks as outlined in our Safer Recruitment and Selection Policy supplied online with this role.
