All Hallows Catholic High School is a mixed, Roman Catholic, voluntary-aided 11–16 secondary school, situated in Penwortham, Lancashire. The school is under the trusteeship of the Archdiocese of Liverpool, with the Governing Body acting as the Admissions Authority.
Opened in 1975, All Hallows is a flourishing, high-achieving and oversubscribed school with a current roll of 912 pupils. The school enjoys an excellent reputation locally and is a popular choice for families year after year, reflecting its high standards of behaviour, strong academic outcomes and caring community ethos.
In February 2023, Ofsted judged All Hallows Catholic High School to be Outstanding in every category, noting that:
“Students receive an outstanding education that prepares them extremely well for their future. Much of the teaching is outstanding and is never less than good. Teachers have expert subject knowledge and use innovative activities that help students to learn rapidly.”
The school was also awarded an Outstanding judgement in its Catholic School Inspection by the Archdiocese of Liverpool in January 2025, where inspectors highlighted that:
“Staff and students fully understand the mission statement of ‘growing together in the spirit of Christ’s love’ and use it as an inspiration and guide in their daily lives.”
Led by Headteacher Mrs A. Cooper, the school is driven by a clear vision and a strong commitment to continuous improvement. Senior and middle leaders are described by Ofsted as “vigorous in their constant drive to improve further the quality of teaching”, ensuring high standards across all areas of school life.
At the heart of All Hallows is a community rooted in Gospel values. The school is committed to helping young people grow morally, intellectually and spiritually, enabling them to achieve their full potential and leave equipped to take their place confidently in society. Staff are proud to work in a supportive, values-led environment where pupils are respectful, motivated and keen to learn.
