Working within an innovative ICT Department, your focus will be to investigate new technologies and primarily maintain, develop and improve the core ICT infrastructure including the physical and wireless networks, hypervisors/servers, backups and communication systems. You will also manage software deployments, administer school systems and use your technical expertise to implement IT initiatives that enhance ICT for pupils, teachers, staff and parents. You will also regularly engage with the schools’ teaching and administration teams, allowing them to benefit from your technical knowledge providing staff and students with a professional, high quality ICT experience.

We welcome applicants with or without education or schools experience, however exposure to a 2nd/3rd line technical support role and a proven history of implementing ICT systems, developments and improvements is essential.

Duties

You will be responsible for managing, maintaining and the school’s ICT infrastructure, software deployments, administering & developing school systems whilst using your technical expertise to drive through ICT projects & improvements that enhance the lives of staff and students. 

This post is Regulated Activity.

Hours of Work

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day worked between the operational hours of 07:00hrs to 18:00 hrs.  In addition, the post will be required to work approximately 4 Saturdays per year between 08:00 hrs to 13:30 hrs and you will receive the equivalent time off in lieu during the corresponding week.

Salary

Between £35,194 to £41,588 per annum dependent upon on skills, knowledge and experience

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job candidates to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

Bedales School is an independent, co-educational, selective, day and boarding school for children aged 3-18. It is situated in Petersfield in Hampshire and there are 460 pupils on its roll. There are admission fees and scholarships and bursaries are available.

Bedales is a charitable trust and was founded in 1893 by J H Badley as a humane alternative to the authoritarian regimes of the late-Victorian public schools. Its founding ethos was, and still is, “Head, Hand and Heart.”
