The Team

The ICT Services team look after the installation and support of all lCT, Audio Visual and communications equipment over 3 different college sites. We are a busy department supporting our students and staff with over 4500 college owned client devices/computers. 

 

The Role

The ICT Support Analyst will be based at Booth Lane Campus and is an integral role within this busy team. The role will be providing ICT Support to staff and students at all three campuses as required. The post holder will have some technical responsibilities for critical computer systems. The post holder will be assisting with the installation, maintenance of ICT and Audio-Visual Equipment. They Will also be assisting with Networking and any other ICT related jobs. Travel between sites will be required and so a full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.

 

The Successful Candidate

  • The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:
  • Knowledge and Experience in a pc support environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows image deployment (Microsoft SCCM for example).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and other Microsoft office applications.
  • Knowledge and experience of Administering cloud technologies such as Microsoft office 365, Google Enterprise.
  • Knowledge and experience of computer/laptop hardware repair.
  • Knowledge and experience of Data cabling (Cat6, fibre optical).
  • An ability to travel to other college sites when required. A valid UK driving licence and own vehicle
  • Have good physical fitness with the ability to perform regular manual handling and climbing steps and ladders (Comfortable and safe working at height).
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people in a demanding environment.
  • An ability to effectively manage their time so that faults are cleared in a timely manner. Triaging noncritical faults to ensure the critical ones get resolved first.
  • Ability to take on projects that will involve multiple.

Northampton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college situated in Northamptonshire. It is a 16-plus institution with three campuses: a major building at its main Northampton site, a smaller campus near the town centre and another 20 miles away in Daventry. It provides places for around 9,000 students aged 16 and over, most of whom are full-time and aged 16-18.

Northampton College was opened in 1973. It merged with Daventry Tertiary College to expand its Daventry campus in August 2004, and its Booth Lane campus reopened after a large redevelopment in 2012.
