TreeHouse school is an Ofsted 'Outstanding' non-maintained special school, providing education to 100 autistic pupils aged 3-19. Our Ambitious approach ensures that through our curriculum and delivery, we focus on delivering quality of life outcomes for our children and young people.

We have a brand new opportunity for an ambitious ICT (Sensory Learning) Teacher to join the team. We are looking for somebody with strong ICT skills and a good understanding of ICT curriculum as you will be assisting in writing an ICT curriculum for our school.

Your day to day role will include:

  • Delivering creative and person-centred ICT lessons to up to 8 learners within our Primary or Secondary phase.
  • Working with pupils to ensure they receive a service that delivers the outcomes specified in their individualised learning, person-centred plans.
  • Developing our ICT curriculum and looking at new schemes of work
  • ICT accreditations with pupils
  • Building a bank of assistive technology systems (and implementing new ways for our learners to work on their iPads)
  • Upskilling teachers on new practises and reflecting learning for teachers

This is an exciting role which will give you autonomy to implement brand new ideas and be innovative in your approach. (ECT's will be considered for this role).

Start date: After half term October 2023

Assessment: We will ask you to complete a written task prior to interview, a formal interview (45 minutes - 1 hour) and you will conduct a Micro Teach (20-30 minutes) with a group of pupils.

The Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust that shares Ambitious about Autism’s vision and mission. Through the Trust, we are developing more schools to reach the autistic children and young people who need our specialist support.

In 2014, the trust set up our first special free school, The Rise School, in west London. In 2023, the Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust opened Spring School, a new special free school in Kingston, south west London. Spring School is dedicated to educating autistic pupils aged 4–19.
