Thomas Ashton is a school based in Hyde (borough of Tameside) which provides high quality, innovative alternative educational experiences for pupils and students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties) across the 5 - 14 age range. There is also a smaller second site situated in Audenshaw.

Thomas Ashton is delighted to now be part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust (MAT) having joined on 1st January 2025. The Trust is a growing family of schools catering for young people aged 4 to 19 with an EHCP currently in the local authorities of Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale.

We are seeking to appoint an ICT Technician to join our dynamic, growing and committed staff team to work across both sites. Own transport is therefore essential. The successful candidate will be a reliable, motivated and enthusiastic person who can work on their own initiative. The main aspects of the role are to solve basic ICT issues for staff and pupils, assist with the maintenance of hardware and software and the provision of information about the use of ICT within the school / site as required.

New Bridge MAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must have a commitment to safeguarding young people. This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and references will be sought prior to interview.

This post will be subject to a number of pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. It will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here.
