Job overview

We are seeking to appoint 2x first line ICT Technicians on a full time, permanent basis to work across our London Academies, with an immediate start.

The purpose of this post is to provide an efficient and effective ICT technical support service to pupils, staff and academy guests, whilst ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of ICT technologies within the London Academies. The postholder will report to the ICT Network Manager and travel between academy sites as required.

OAT London Academies provide outstanding education and intervention through alternative provision (AP) and outreach teams, who work hard to ensure that every learner reaches their full potential.

The core values of resiliencecompassion and innovation are central to the work of our academies.

About OAT:

This is an incredible opportunity for an ICT Technician to make a difference and join a great team of people within a supportive, values-led organisation. Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest not-for-profit MAT's in England with almost 5,000 staff and 30,000 students. We have been around since 2009 making us one of the longest established trusts. Our mission is to be the Trust that makes the biggest difference both inside and outside the classroom.

Our vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential, whether going on to study at a leading university or entering the world of work. We are determined to become the Trust that makes the biggest difference, both inside and outside the classroom.

OAT is a great organisation to work for. We offer:

  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, rising to 28 days after 5 years’ service
  • Commitment to your continued professional development
  • LGPS pension with a generous employer contribution
  • Season Ticket Loan Scheme
  • Employee Benefits and Wellbeing Package

Our key values are:

  • Anyone can excel: you don’t have to be exceptionally bright or naturally gifted in order to excel at something. We know hard work, determination and perseverance pay off.
  • Enjoy the challenge: just because something might be hard, it doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. We know it’s okay to face setbacks too – they can make you stronger.
  • Share what is best: if you’ve done something or created something others would benefit from seeing or having, you should share it. We know our schools keep getting better when we all share what is best.
  • Be inclusive: every child and adult should respect and accept that difference is normal, that everyone should be welcomed and included.

How to apply:

To apply, please submit your completed application and supporting statement by 5pm on 21st June 2023 . A full job description and person specification is attached.

For an informal discussion about the role, or if you have any additional queries, please contact Kashif Ibrahim, ICT Network Manager at kibrahim@ormistonacademies.co.uk

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.

Ormiston Beachcroft Academy is a primary and secondary alternative provision academy situated in Westminster. The academy supports learners who have experienced difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school. We also support learners with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan.

Learners are educated in small, well-supported groups and follow a broad curriculum of English, maths, science, ICT, humanities, PE, art, life skills/PHSE and food technology. Learners receive targeted support for literacy and numeracy and are able to access a range of therapeutic interventions. The academy was judged as good in all areas by Ofsted in 2016.

We work closely with secondary and primary schools in the borough to facilitate learners’ return to mainstream education whenever possible. Learners can gain a broad range of GCSEs or equivalent Level 2 qualifications by the end of Year 11. Learners can also attend college placements for a variety of vocational courses. Learners have individual learning plans to enable them to achieve to the best of their abilities and the academy rewards progress weekly so that even the smallest of steps are recognised. Learners take full advantage of the opportunities to widen their experiences in the local and wider area visiting museums and exhibitions and going on trips at the end of term as well as attending special programmes of activities during the holidays. The staff team works closely with parents/carers and outside agencies to make Ormiston Beachcroft Academy a safe and enjoyable place where pupils gain the skills and confidence for success in future life.
