Job overview

Priory College South Wales is looking to employ a proactive, confident and enthusiastic ICT Tutor to join our team. We are looking for someone who will develop, maintain and teach an innovative, inclusive and engaging curriculum to our young people.

Hours: 28 Hours - Term time - 4 days per week (Monday - Friday)

The successful candidate must:

  • Support initial and ongoing assessment and diagnostics, learner achievement, target setting and other quality measures as required by awarding bodies. 
  • Be responsible for planning and preparing schemes of work and individual lessons for a range of learners with different needs including autism, learning disabilities, mutism and challenging behaviours.
  • Assess, record and report on students’ development, progress and attainment in line with accredited or RARPA programme of study.
  • Attend Progress Reviews and Interim Reviews of students in your cohort and provide a progress report to the agreed time scale.
  • Communicate and consult with other professionals, including external agencies in carrying out assessments.
  • Communicate and consult with the senior management team, students, parents and key stakeholders.
  • Be flexible and be able to teach other classes/cohorts when required.

Priory College South Wales is an independent, specialist co-educational college for young adults aged 16 to 25 with Asperger's syndrome, autistic spectrum disorders and associated conditions based at Cwmbran. The college was set up in partnership with Coleg Gwent, the largest further education college in Wales, to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of our young people.
